THE INSTITUTE OF LUCK

is a theatre collaboration interested in the mutual transformation of theatre and everyday life. The Institute of Luck’s projects aim to increase our capacity for choice between actions. It develops performances, workshops, socially engaged projects and research, collaborating between diverse artists practices and social groups. It understands not knowing as a paradoxical form of knowledge that allows us to realise our intentions unintentionally, producing Luck.

Our story

Following, Potluck workshops Alice worked with Drama Therapist Ioulia Stepanova on the dramaturgy of her 2021 story Green Machine written during a relapse scare of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Green Machine was subsequently developed as a performance through collaboration between mid – career artists, Felicity Nicol, Šime Knežević, Lucy Watson, Matte Rochford and Ali Sebastian Wolf, and and emerging artists Zoe Tomaras and Ailsa Liu, supported by the Inner West Council’s Edge Spaces program with a work in progress showing at Balmain Town Hall.
